5 Signs It’s Time To Start Over
A fresh start can be so rewarding, yet scary. Nobody wants to start over but sometimes you have no other choice. Many of us fool ourselves into thinking we’re stuck and there’s no other way out of the hole we’ve dug ourselves into. But, what I’ve learned while going through storms and fighting unforeseen battles is that there’s always an answer to a problem if we just keep searching for it. If you want more for your life, you have to start planing and make some moves.
God has a purpose for your life. It’s time to live, be free, and follow your destiny. Get out of that dead-end relationship, leave that dry town, go back to school, say good-bye to that job that brings you no joy. Set new goals and start over.
I had to start over quite a few times.
I’m a mother of 4 children. I met my husband when I was 14. A few months later I was pregnant with my first child. At 16 I was pregnant with my second child, at 19 I was pregnant with my 3rd child, and at the age of 30, I welcomed my last princess. I’ve had to start over more times than I can count. Life hasn’t been easy, but, I never gave up. When my situation wasn’t looking good, I put a plan together and made some changes. God put the right people in my life so I could succeed. My husband (together 21 years and married over 9 years) never gave-up on us. That man really loves our little family. And I never stopped loving him; even through all the ups and downs.
One thing about me, I can’t remain stagnant for too long.
I have to be working towards accomplishing a goal or becoming a better person. There is so much of this world I haven’t seen, nice homes I haven’t lived in, beautiful furniture I haven’t sat on, or luxurious cars I haven’t driven. We can’t get what we want standing in one spot not making moves. The world is changing by the day and it’s far too easy to fall behind. Don’t let life pass you by. You don’t want to be one of those people in your old age living with regret. Don’t settle for your current circumstances. If you’re not making any progress, it’s time to start over.
If’s it unclear that it’s time for you to make some changes, I’ve put together 5 signs you need to look for that indicate it’s time to do something different with your life. Wanna hear it? Here it go!
1. You Are Not Evolving
There’s nothing wrong with a having routine. I mean we all need stability. What sucks is when you’re doing the same thing every day but want more. Or how about you’re doing the same thing every day and expecting a different result? In order to be successful, we have to be willing to grow mentally, spiritually, physically, and financially. Take some risks and do something different from what you’ve seen your family do over the years. Read some books or get certified in a field that interests you. The more you know, the more you will grow as a person. You are getting older and it’s time to stop playing games and get focused. While you’re working on being the best person you can possibly be…..walking in your purpose, learning more about life…..don’t forget to have fun and smile. You can work hard, achieve goals and still be happy.
2. Things Keep Getting Worse
Look, we all know life is not perfect and everyone has a bad day. We all hit a few roadblocks every now and then. But, if you are consistently running into problems, it’s time to rethink the decisions you are making. I think God allows us to go through things so we can become stronger and wiser. I also know he sends us signs that certain situations are just not working. Use your intuition and leave that bad relationship. Go with your gut feeling and stop hanging out with the homegirl who’s always up to no good. Stop procrastinating and watching your problems get worse. Better yet, stop letting your problems stress you out and handle your business. If you’re walking around feeling like you have a black cloud over your head because the issues are neverending, it’s time start over.
You are in charge of your own happiness, not your boyfriend, relative, spouse, children, or friends. It’s all on you. Take charge over your life, set some boundaries, and protect your peace. Walking around in a funk all day is unacceptable! It’s time to shake that bad attitude. Whatever is bothering you that has you to point where you want to sleep all day, crying, or feeling out of touch with life has to be dealt with as soon as possible. Maybe you went through something traumatic and the bed is the only thing that feels right. I get it. Cry it out, get you some rest, and then GET UP! You can’t stay in bed forever. It’s time to get yourself together.
4. Money Issues
Welp, nobody likes to be broke. Nowadays there is no excuse to have an empty bank account. There are so many opportunities out there. You can even make money working from home or simply from an App. If you are struggling to pay bills, or you don’t even have enough money to treat yourself from time-to-time, it’s time to look at your income and rethink your situation. Stop settling or waiting for “Mr. Right” to pull you out of that tight spot. You deserve more and have the potential to earn more. Get out of your own way. If education is holding your back, go back to school. Sometimes increasing your income is as simple as asking a friend or family member “is your job hiring?” Do some research, make some calls, or email some companies so you can find a better opportunity.
5. Bad Eating Habits
What you eat every day is either killing you or giving you life. When you eat healthily, you feel good and you start to look good too. It’s hard eating healthy food but you have no other choice. Yep, that’s exactly the way you have to see it. You have to be intentional with what you eat. More fruits, more veggies, less processed and fried food. Slow down on the sweets. It’s ok to treat yourself. You’re only human. But, it’s when we overindulge. How about when we don’t eat at all? And it’s not a good thing when we’re downing soda like there’s no tomorrow and not nourishing the inside of our bodies with water. Get it together girl. Health is wealth. It’s time to watch what you eat, love your body, and start a new healthy journey.
